2023 Partnerships: Collaborations and Knowledge Transfer at UCI MRSEC (CCAM)
CCAM continues to advance its materials discoveries and innovations by creating and sustaining collaborations and partnerships. Key activities include:
• Addition of new members from industry and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) to the CCAM Industrial Advisory Board (IAB), broadening the scope and diversity of the CCAM IAB.
• Hosting the annual CCAM IAB meeting, a one-day in-person event in Jan. 2023. This meeting enabled IAB members to provide feedback on the educational and research activities of CCAM and to mentor CCAM graduate students and postdoc JRFs, enhancing professional career opportunities for JRFs. Selected JRFs presented research talks, and events included a lively poster session with JRF presentations (see right).
• Establishing the UCI MRSEC collaboration opportunity research program (MRSEC-CORPs) by hosting external visitors at UCI.
• Creating a research nexus for academia, industry, and national laboratories by training and support at shared facilities (IMRI) and specialized materials research laboratories at UCI.
