CCAM Investigator Recognized with TMS 2024 Bruce Chalmers Award
On March 6, 2024, Professor Enrique J. Lavernia, CCAM IRG-1 investigator, was recognized with the 2024 Bruce Chalmers Award from the Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) at the TMS 2024 Annual Meeting (March 3-7, 2024, Orlando, FL). TMS’s award citation states: “For innovative and pioneering studies on the fundamental mechanisms that govern the interrelationship between processing, microstructure, and mechanical behavior of structural materials”.
The award honors Bruce Chalmers, professor of metallurgy and former master of John Winthrop House at Harvard University, in recognition of “an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the science and/or technology of materials processing and includes a life-membership to TMS”.
