CCAM Faculty Member Received WPI Presidential Medal Award

We are thrilled to share that CCAM Faculty Member, Diran Apelian, received Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s (WPI) Presidential Medal Award on Friday, March 22, 2024. He was recognized for his incredible contributions to the university (provost emeritus and founding director of the Metal Processing Institute) as well as for his innovative research and entrepreneurship in materials science and engineering. The medal was established in 2001 to recognize individuals who exemplify the “technological humanist,” an ideal at the core of WPI’s educational approach.

“I am humbled by this recognition and elated by the emphasis on technological humanist, as it has been a way of life that I have strived for throughout my professional life,” said Diran. This is an impressive honor and we commend him on this significant achievement. Read more.
