We are proud to congratulate Huiming Guo, a Junior Research Fellow of CCAM and 5th-year Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), on receiving the Samueli School of Engineering (SSoE) Outstanding Ph.D. Student Research Award. This prestigious award recognizes exceptional Ph.D. students who have demonstrated excellence in research and a strong record of academic achievement.
Huiming is a member of Prof. William Bowman’s Lab and has made significant contributions to the field of sustainable energy. Her research focuses on developing advanced functional oxides for fuel and electrolysis cells, critical technologies for clean energy storage, conversion, and carbon neutralization. Using transmission electron microscopy, she bridges solid-state defect chemistry with advanced electrochemical properties to support the advancement of next-generation energy solutions.
Huiming earned her bachelor’s degree from Changzhou University in China in 2018 and completed her master’s degree at UCI in 2021. She is expected to graduate with her Ph.D. in Fall 2025. In addition to her research, Huiming actively supports the scientific community through her service on the Microscopy Society of America Student Council since 2021, helping to organize the Pre-Meeting Congress at the annual Microscopy and Microanalysis conferences. Please join us in celebrating Huiming’s achievements and wishing her continued success in her research and professional journey!
